Funded by the NSCC Foundation,
these tutorials give an overview
of web-based
Outlook email. They include instructions for:
• Logging into and off the system
• Creating messages
• Using the address book
• Adding attachments
• Organizing messages
• Managing contacts
• Using the calendar
• Searching for messages
• Setting the “Out of Office Assistant” and other options
• Changing your password
The tutorials were created
on a Windows-based computer and there
are two versions, one for Internet Explorer and one for Netscape.
Mac users should view the Netscape version since it will more closely
match your experience on a Mac.
The tutorials are narrated but if your computer doesn’t have sound, you may still benefit from viewing them. They’ve been created with Camtasia Studio and converted into a file format called Flash which produces high quality multimedia files that are small in size. In addition, each section is short (between 45 seconds and four minutes long) so they should download and play on your computer fairly quickly.
You can view the sections
sequentially, skip around, or simply pick
one to watch.
Buttons on the bottom of
the screen that look like this:
allow you to play (right pointing arrow), pause (two vertical bars), or stop (square) the presentation.
If you have any problems viewing them, try downloading and installing the latest Flash player from Macromedia at http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer/. If problems persist or you have suggestions, contact Jean Kent by email or phone (587-4103).
