| Advanced Angel Teaching
Tips Thursday, November 12, Noon to 2:00 PM, TLC LB 3231C Instructor SCCC Nutrition Instructor Deborah Ocken This helpful "higher angel" learning lab will focus on the pedagogy of teaching with Angel and how to make it happen through the Angel interface. Topics will include effective use of the Learning Object Repository (LOR, the instructor's private storage area in Angel) to create a complete learning module once and be able to modify and reuse it many times; how to maximize interactive communication with and among students through the discussion board tools; effective use the amazingly versatile reports tool; and last but not least, a prelimary pass over the many uses of automation in Angel, (affectionately aka the "secret agent") to reveal content sequentially or link its appearance to student progress. (For those interested in setting up their course to take full advantage of the freedom the automation feature provides, Deborah will return next week for a session focused entirely on Automation.) This will be Deborah's fourth year teaching with Angel and she has a wealth of tips and tricks to pass on to newer users. If you have specific questions you would like her to address, please feel free to email them ahead of time to tlcnorth@sccd.ctc.edu so she can do any necessary research and have good answers ready at the lab. |
