Teaching with Twitter
Wednesday, December 2, 2:00 to 3:30 PM, TLC
Instructor Jean Kent
Twitter is one of the newest Web 2.0, "social media" applications available on the web today. It's a simple communication tool that asks one question: "What are you doing?" Type your answer into an input field that allows 140 characters, keeping it short and sweet. Twitter has proven invaluable for reporters, alerting news teams of breaking news and for celebrities to gather fans around them whenever and wherever they go.
So how can a tool whose strengths are immediacy and brevity be of use in the service of quality education?
Join NSCC faculty and technology-wizard Jean Kent for a serious look at how Twitter might be used to enhance instruction both in the classroom or online. |
