November 2 - 6 Learning Labs |
Angel Wednesday,
Part 4
Wednesday, November 4, 12:00 to 2:00 PM, TLC LB 3231C
Part 4 of a 4 - Part Angel Training Series
Facilitators Tom Braziunas, Carol Howe
This fourth and last hands-on workshop will “round out” the
educational applications of the ANGEL learning management system with
some practical expediencies. How to back-up a course to preserve student
data as part of an end-of-term process and how to prepare a new section
of an online course as part of a routine start-of-term instructor checklist
will be covered. Use of an instructor’s personal “ Learning
Object Repository” to simplify the course revising process as well
as to help “map out” course design and structure will be introduced.
Importantly, “ closing the assessment loop” can be expedited
using essential learning outcomes and course objectives conveniently accessible
in ANGEL. Finally, the use of “automated agents” to create
learning pathways for students and to help keep in touch with students
will be touched upon. |

system. Included will be practice with effectively designing and using
an online grade book and calendar to keep students informed of their progress.
Addressed as well will be how to create individualized online exams through
randomization of questions and use of question pools. Shortcuts to building
question banks and leveraging a personal “repository” to streamline
